The local pharmacy is no longer serving the best health interests of consumers. If you haven't noticed, the local pharmacy has had the same old brands on the shelves for decades. This is mainly due to the big chain stores charging "listing fees" and many extra surcharges for suppliers to obtain space on their shelves. These costs are substantial and only the largest pharmaceutical companies can afford to pay these costs while still offering product at reasonable prices.
Small companies who have new, more innovative, more effective healthcare products cannot pay the costs to obtain shelf space and, therefore, have to rely on other channels to get their products to consumers. The Internet has been one of those channels that allows the possibility of small bio-companies to market much better, more effective health solutions at much better prices.
